For this beautiful kitchen remodel, our clients wanted to achieve an update that reflected their lifestyle. The old kitchen didn’t speak to their aesthetic and they really wanted it to flow with their living space. They were looking for something that was modern but classic – something they could style with the trends (e.g. brushed gold fixtures), but have the classic pieces that will be evergreen.
The original home had a kitchen, breakfast nook, and Dining room – with the kitchen on the small side and lacking the necessary storage and ideal appliances for an avid cook. It was decided to add
two large pantries and buffet to get the storage needed. Since space didn’t allow for a double oven, a standard range plus an advantium oven was placed in the island. One appliance with the capability to multi-task. It is a convection oven, microwave, warming drawer as well as a broiler/toaster. Simple shaker cabinets with slab drawer heads were chosen to keep clean lines and a 24″x48″ tile for the floor eliminates having a ton of grout lines, making the space feel brighter and larger. A herringbone marble backsplash adds the pop of interesting pulling the whole design together.
From the client: “Having everything open and having the island as the centerpiece has been great for flow and conversation when guests are over!”
